Dinner
I used to wonder why people would go through the hassle of cooking a bunch of artichokes just to use the choke. I mean, that is a lot of work! Unless you get artichokes at the beginning of the season when they are GINORMOUS.
Maybe I have never registered the pile of GINORMOUS artichokes at the grocery store at the beginning of the season? (The first main flower must be these big guys. After this one ripens, smaller side flowers ripen.) I had one of these for dinner last night (and one the night before), and they have a lot of plant meat in them. Last night I had it with lemon butter and the night before with a yogurt-mustard mix. Delicious.
