Thanks to Victoria Winters (soon to be at her new site), I browsed through Holly's blog, and have been re-inspired to refinish my bedroom furniture...this summer. My new place has a patio and a small shed out back, and I have a wood bed frame and two wood dressers that are blah - the dresser/bed set has stain that is all marked from getting wet or being rubbed, and the other dresser has that fake shiny finish. Previously living in a city, there was no good place to attempt this. Now I will be able to take the furniture out of the apartment to avoid too much stink. If any beginners have attempted this before and have advice, do let me know. Stay tuned!
[And just like the day I pierced my nose over 9 years ago, now that I have told so many people I am going to do it, I will have to!]

And I wonder why other bloggers' minds are always in the gutter... You have a bed set that is all stained from getting wet and being rubbed? Are you sure you want to refinish it and erase all those happy memories? ;-)
Make sure you decide water- or oil-based stain. And, from personal experience, I would recommend not staining your furniture, getting stain all over your legs, trying to make garlic bread for dinner, leaving the sharp knife in front of the microwave you're using to soften up some butter, and rushing to the hospital for 9 stitches. Unless you're into that sort of thing.
Spark, I think you beat Ron to the joke!
Carolyn, noted (and when did that happen?). I'm thinking painting them so maybe that will break the cycle. ;-)
Summer 2004 - in my yellow kitchen. Though I usually tell people my scar is from a monkey knife fight.
