It definitely is fall. I have been apple picking twice. Where jeans and sweaters and vests because it is chilly. I have been baking up a whole bunch of fall-type stuff. Apple pie. Apple oatmeal muffins. These Pumpkin Chocolate Chip cookies.
They are pretty darn good. For the record, they are pumpkin because it is fall, not because by adding pumpkin you take away butter.

those cookies do look good. This IS the season for hot food :-)
Could you send me some??? I think a little cool whip on top with a sprinkle of cinnamon and some hot chocolate. Can you tell I've been thinking about the cookies?
I don't quite get why anyone would think that you'd take away butter by using pumpkin. Is there some secret baking trick of which I'm unaware?
Anyway, it has been sweater weather here too. And while I don't go apple picking, I do enjoy that the grocery store has all of the seasonal apples coming in now. I particularly like McIntoshes. (I don't know WHY they leave out the A, but that is what it says on the sticker).
Anyway, they are one of my favorites.
