I'm such a dork

I just got really excited.

I am trying to polish up my talk for this conference I am attending. I have the new office 2007 and do not know all the ins and outs yet. So I grouped some stuff together in my powerpoint presentation, then added some animation, but then I want to add text to what was already there.

In the old version, you would add the text and it would go off the edge of the slide. You would have to ungroup the stuff, shift all the text back onto the slide, regroup, and usually reanimate.

In the new version, you can move stuff around within the group without ungrouping it?!?! Amazing.

K. Gotta go practice giving my talk...to my cat....

Don't feel bad if the talk goes badly. Cats are notoriously very bad listeners. Good luck anyway.

YOU CAN MOVE STUFF INSIDE A GROUP? That's totally kick-ass.

Wow, I'm a nerd.

I got super excited when I found I could do that in Illustrator (or InDesign, or one of those Adobe things) last month. And just today I managed to do it in word with a picture and a caption (though you can't resize the size of the caption box). Pretty cool!

Good luck on your talk! Where's the conference?

I used to practice presentations on my cat. Surprisingly, she was quite a good listener. I think the human students were more likely to fall asleep or leave than she was.

Ron, she seemed to be confused about the topic. Oh, well.

Ern, NO KIDDING. Have you tried yet though? :-)

Carolyn, see. I'm still a little weary of word because it messes around with your layout and stuff when you embed pictures. The conference was here. Weird going to a conference at home!

Spark, cats don't seem to judge. I think she thought I was talking to her.
