It is no surprise that money stresses me out if you read once in a while. Not that I post about it a lot, but I think I have posted about it enough (just click on the academia category and it is likely to include something about income). Now that I find myself in that in-between rental month during which I will need to pay a security deposit on one apartment before getting mine back from the current apartment and have no savings even though I am 32 years old, it is no surprise that I am probably stressed out about it now. The fact that I have a PhD and can barely live month-to-month is a bewildering to me, but that is a different post and one I will likely not write because it is too depressing. So I probably shouldn't have bought this stuff when I went to my first Lia Sophia party, but I could have partaken in much worse shopping therapy, I think. The earrings are a bit heavy, but not too bad. The necklace is teal tiger's eye and hematite.
My fellow post-doc came along and bought these, which spin easily.
Never mind the Ann Taylor gray pencil skirt and black/brown/white dress I bought at a consignment shop over the weekend for $16. I like a good deal.

oooohhhhh..... shiny!!!!
Someone at my work has a catalogue of jewellery for sale that they pass around every time it's updated. I don't even touch the thing because I know I'd overspend. Sparkly things are too appealing!
Neat jewelry!
I am such a sucker for jewelery. I went to a jewelry party (Premier Designs) last week and had to mentally restrict myself to about $50 or two pieces before I opened the catalog. I'm with Sparkling Red, sparkly things are definitely too appealing! I haven't heard of Lia Sophia, but the pieces you've shown here are definitely along the lines of things I like to wear.
Ron, tempting, huh? :-)
Spark, that's why I did not even look in the expensive jewelry boothes at a recent art fair.
Danielle, Lia Sophia is also a home party thing. You would likely have to give yourself a similar limit! I got the earrings, necklace, and a plain chain for ~$50 (with discounts for buying 3 things).
