Smells

1. Why do my sweaters always smell like a perm when they come out of the washing machine?
I suppose it is because of chemicals used in dyes or processing of wool, but it still brings back memories of all those perms I had.

2. I am using one of those Thermacare stick-on heating pads for my shoulders for the first time. I keep smelling something oddly chemical and that is the only thing I can think of that is different from my usual shower/lotion/hair routine. It is totally worth it because my shoulders are much less tight than usual (after having it on for 6 hours).

Ah Ha!

It is working now! Perhaps it was user error. ;-)

Anyway, what I wanted to say was that I've never noticed that smell before when I've washed my sweaters. However, I don't own any wool sweaters, so maybe that is why.

As for the thermacare thing, I'd wondered how well it worked. I tried using the cooling one a couple times when I had migraines, but between the strong smell of the menthol (ugh) and the how short-acting it was - minutes - I ended up giving up on them.

I hope your shoulders stay relaxed.

That is where I carry all of my tension too.
