Live entertainment

The ground is still frozen and snow covered, so I have not been able to put up the bird feeder CF gave me. So, I shovel off the back patio area and throw some seed out there so the cat has some entertainment. One morning, a woodpecker landed and must have scared her because she jumped down and hid where she could not even see the bird.We have had more visitors since then though. There is no snow to cover up the seed during the day; the weather is getting warmer; the males are practicing their songs; and they have figured out where some extra food is. I think the same four birds stop by every morning too.
There has been a blue jay too. I think the cat is used to the birds being so close now, because if she is not crouched facing out the window, she faces me and meows incessantly.
I do not know what she would do if she was out there. The amount she meows at me though suggests that watching these birds is like when you watch 24 and you just want to jump into the TV with Jack Bauer...or something.

Your cat had better be careful. A fellow I work with recently told me that when he was a kid, his cat was abducted by an owl. He saw it happen. 20 lb. cat minding its own business, and this owl just swooped out of nowhere, grabbed the cat in its talons, and took off. The cat was never seen again. Thus, bird kills cat, in a poetic reversal of fortune.

I can't believe you still have snow!!! It's so nice this weekend here. Neville's been escaping almost every time I open the door, naughty cat!

VW, this is about the fourth 40+ day in a row, so it won't be there for much longer...

LOL... might be like my pup. All excited to chase things, but when it really happens she's a coward.

Ron, that would totally be what she would do.
