You know when you flip the TV on just to see what's on and then you start watching things that you never intended to watch? I had to tear myself away from Coyote Ugly tonight at my sister's so I could drive home and go to bed. Apparently she has it on DVD, so I could borrow it though!
Other things I can get sucked into watching: What Not to Wear, Trading Spaces, Extreme Home Makeover, Law and Order, Weekend at Bernie's (I don't know why because it's a HORRIBLE movie).
Luckily I do not have cable so I end up watching less TV that you may think.

That's why I had to get rid of my TV... :o) It doesn't matter how good or bad a show or movie is, sometimes I just want to know what happens!
There aren't many shows that can reliably keep my attention, and fewer movies, but What Not To Wear gets me every time!
What I don't understand on What Not to Wear is that they throw away all your old clothes and give you $5000, but then take you to New York and make you shop in the fancy stores. I mean really how much can $5000 buy you there??? OK I know way to much about the show.
I got sucked into the Bachelorette this season. I've only really watched the last couple of episodes, because my TiVo put it on low priority and it taped music shows instead... but still, it sucked me in.
I've never watched the ones you are talking about, but I've heard that Extreme Makeover Home Edition really pulls at your heart strings.
Molly, now you just have Netflix on demand though. ;-)
Spark, they have great advice sometimes!
Ron, I always figure if I can spend $300 on a pair of jeans in NYC like the people do, they would look damn good on me too. I also wonder how many items of clothes they have in their new wardrobes.
Danielle, I will start watching reality TV (like Beauty and the Geek), but then will forget one week and not go back. It helps not having any DVR system. Extreme Makeover alllllways makes me cry!
