Well, I just finished a third sewing project and my friend is on her way over to pick it up. She is Jewish and her husband is Catholic and they had some of each tradition at their wedding. Their high school friends had made quilt squares that one of them sewed to make their chuppah. The intent was to turn it into a quilt to have in their home. When I was making the bags, my friend found out that I sew and mentioned it. She had been quoted a few hundred dollars to finish the chuppah into a quilt. I told her that I could easily do it, but it would probably be simple. No fancy quilting for me! She had all the fill and backing, so I just had to sew. They gave me money to have my sewing machine cleaned and the timing adjusted. Last weekend she wrote me a check and that was the push I needed to actually sew it.
The best part of these sewing projects is that I inherited my grandmother's sewing desk with all the notions (thread, buttons, zippers, etc.) in it! I can just sit down and find thread to match what I am going to work on. This is what the drawer looked like:

Since your sewing and all I could probably use a nice quilt of some kind and I think my dog would like a nice outfit, you know something for the weekends.
Ohh!!! I just realized that your post title is a pun. And a *silly one* at that. Rock on with your bad self.
That is awesome. I wish I had sewing skills. My sister re-makes old clothes into new ones in a fashionable gesture to environmental awareness. I can sew on a button but that's about it.
I hope we get to see the quilt when it's done.
Ron, I can make you and your dog matching outfits! Classy. :-)
Molly, HAH! It's all in how you read it.
Spark, I wish I could remake old clothes. I am not that creative. Unfortunately, I didn't take a picture of the quilt before I gave it back. My friend was SOOOOOOOOO happy with it!
That sounds like such a nice exchange for you both. And I want to see the quilt. Now.... I think I am being just a teeny bit selfish in that regard.
Aurora, sadly it went back to its owners with no photo taken. My friend did tell me that they look at it allll the time!
