123 Meme

I saw this over at Aurora's. And I'm reading two books, so I had choices. I just picked up Pride and Prejudice again as my nighttime book (Carolyn, don't get any ideas until after your defense). Here are the rules:
1. Pick up the nearest book (of at least 123 pages).
2. Open the book to page 123.
3. Find the fifth sentence.
4. Post the next three sentences.
5. Tag five people.

Here's my excerpt:
He seldom appeared really animated. Mrs. Collins knew not what to make of him. Colonel Fitzwilliam's occasionally laughing at his stupidity, proved that he was generally different, which her own knowlege of him could not have told her; and as she would have liked to believe this change the effect of love, and the object of that love, her friend Eliza, she set herself seriously to work to find it out.
I think Jane Austen should have used more periods. Luckily, those first two sentences were short!

Um, do the meme if you want. :)

She is tolerable; but not handsome enough to tempt me!

Funny, I just was going through some books to pack and set aside P&P to not be backed so I might be able to reread it in the next 1-2 months :)

Definitely one of my favourite books. "It was a truth universally acknowledged, that a bachelor in possession of a large fortune should also be in want of a wife."

Carolyn: that line is great too!

Carolyn, reading P&P can be your reward!

Aurora, there are lots of good lines from P&P, huh? Have you seen the mini-series? :)
