Lyrics #17: My new favorite radio station

There is this radio station that one of the undergrads listened to in lab ALL THE TIME a few summers ago. I am not really sure why she got to listen to her radio station, except that we really did not want to listen to her complain about the other radio stations. I was flipping stations in my car the other day and it was playing a great song that reminds me of high school.
And in the end we shall achieve in time
The thing they call divine
When all the stars will smile for me
When all is well and well is all for all
And forever after
Since then I have been listening to this station ALL THE TIME again. They have definitely changed their playlist! Almost every song reminds me of the alternative station I listened to in high school. It makes me wish I had mp3s of all those songs.
I think you're smart
You sweet thing
Tell me your name
I'm dying here
It's been a while
Since I've gone and f**ked things up just like i always do
It's been a while
But all that sh** seems to disappear when i'm with you
Want to put my tender heart in a blender
Watch it spin around to a beautiful oblivion
Rendezvous then Im through with you
And even stuff that seems a little less alternative-y because eventually they play it on the pop stations.
His dreams are like commercials
But her dreams are picture perfect and
Our dreams are so related though they're often underestimated
Good stuff. This station makes me realize how "alternative" music has changed.

Are there any songs from 10-15 years ago that you can think of and really miss listening to?

I also like the morning DJs on another station. It is also alternative-y. One morning they were discussing whether or not they should play Candlebox on their station. They had approached their boss and he said no. So for an entire hour, they did not play a single song. They just talked about this, had people call in to vote, and played Candlebox in the background the entire time. I thought it was hilarious. Especially when they were talking about how their boss was probably so angry on his way to work in the car, that they hoped he didn't get into an accident or a speeding ticket or anything. I still laugh when I think about it.
