I had been on a roll making soup on Sundays. I have a bunch of tutoring todo this afternoon, so I don't know whether I will get to it. Plus I have s bunch of stuff in the freezer and I'm trying to be good about not leaving food in there indefinitely. I also made
these pancakes this morning.

Can you see the steam? I was a little nervous of a recipe with 100% wheat flour, but they were fluffy and the raspberries gave them that little extra...in addition to the
real maple syrup.
I may just make
that peanut soup again tonight if I make the time.
Oh, yes. That was take with my new camera. Not very exciting, except that I think that image stabilization feature actually works. A picture this close would have taken me a little while with my old one. Yay!
This was actually the first picture I took with my camera yesterday at the aquarium. I like to think these penguins were having a private moment.

Then there were other penguin photos.

The fish are obviously all behind glass, and the seals too, so that makes for bad picture taking.
Unfortunately, my friends were not able to drive down to visit yesterday because we had a crappy storm. I had a library aquarium pass though and headed in to town to wander around for a few hours.
I like old buildings amidst skyscrapers. I think this is either the old statehouse or the old courthouse. Either way, it is older than the buildings around it.

P.S. I think if you click on the pictures, they will open up bigger in the browser. Maybe I will even start using flickr a bit more. I think I uploaded a bunch of pictures to flickr when I first started my account and have not done anything since!

Cute penguins!
And those pancakes look like delicious cookies. The raspberries really make them pretty.
Your pancakes look aMAZing. can you post the recipe?
Thank you so much for visiting and commenting today! :)
Those pancakes look divine! YUM.
And you call yourself a New Englander...
That would be the Old Statehouse. The building where the Declaration for Independence was read - which they recreate every 4th of July.
*shakes head* Jenski, Jenski
;-)
I'm teasing you know.
Anyway, the pictures DO open large when you click on them - which is great. The pancakes look really interesting in large form.
I never would've thought to put raspberries in pancakes, but I bet they were really good.
Spark, I know, right?! One of the penguins was human-raised and kept following the people in the tank around. I should've had a picture of that. The man trying to ignore her (because they only handle the animals if necessary) and the penguin wanting attention.
Silly, Molly, there's a link...But here's the recipe, from cooks.com:QUICK MIX WHOLE WHEAT PANCAKES
2 cups whole wheat flour
2 teaspoons baking powder
1 teaspoon salt
2 eggs, well beaten
2 cups milk
2 tablespoons vegetable oil
Stir together dry ingredients. Add eggs, milk, and oil. Stir until dry ingredients are moistened (batter may be lumpy). Cook. I put the berries in while the first side cooked.

Victoria, the pancakes probably weren't quite as yummy as Claire would be!
Danielle, I used real maple syrup on the pancakes though! Guess I should go walk the Freedom Trail...
PENGUINS!!!!!! :)
I had pancakes this morning too :-)
Mmmmm, I love raspberry pancakes.
(And yay for your new camera!)
Carolyn, I thought you might like those pictures. :)
Maxie, great minds think alike!
Ern, Yummy is right! Thanks. :)
Great photos! Flickr is fun but addictive. I like their slideshows as a way to look at pics quickly though!
Cute penguins. They look warm and cosy compared to what it's like today outside.
Mmm. Those pancakes look fluffy!
Aurora, the penguins have so much personality! I could have watched them for a long time. The benefit of not having a small child with you at the aquarium.
